Paper making in Firenze

On one of my visits to Florence, I stopped inside this small shop where beautiful paper products are made. It was a rainy day and I was Lucca's only customer so he had some time and explained a bit how the paper was made and then he let me make my own design. After a couple hours in his shop, 1 espresso, 1 caffe latte and 3 small pieces of chocolate later. I went home with a pair of bookends, covered with a paper used by an accountant 100's of years ago. They have Il Papiro shops all over the world but If you're in ever in Florence, go in and say hi to Lucca =)

Such pretty paper, but I probably would have walked off with the same thing you did :)

wow, how interesting! and lovely that he spent the time with you. I remember making paper at a museum with my brother when we were little. I put glitter in mine.
